Music for Sunday night #47

Tonight, I'll listen to The Police, and their incredible song "Every Breath You Take". I think, I posted this song some time ago, but I haven't found anything about it. Anyway, it's a good song for listening to it more than once. Enjoy.

Film review: Real Steel

I saw this film yesterday. Although, it's from 2011, it's already advertised in TV. And, well, it's my verdict:

In Real Steel, a little kid and his father control robots in boxing fights. The film is starring by Hugh Jackman, and the woman of the story is Evangeline Lilly. They are both nice actors, although I've never seen them previously.

Because of the repeated adds, I thought the film would be amazing but it wasn't.

Things that I like:

- The story takes place in the future. (I don't remember exactly when, but years, such as 2017, are mentioned).
- There is lots of technology in the scenes, in the machines...
- Happy end.

Things that I don't like:

- The protagonist is really unlucky, he suffers bad things during all the film.
- The kid is as irritating as a pain in the b*lls. I hate him.
- The love story between the man and the woman stay in the background, because of the father-son love holds the the foreground.
- There is a lot of action but I had to wait to the end to experiment a bit of emotion.
- Good argument, but bad used.
- Predictable argument.

In conclusion, I found the film quite weak, I hoped a great film.

By the way, those people who don't know about films and rate films incorrectly, you know, I'm referring to IMDb users. Well, those people have rated the film with a good mark, 7!!!! 0.4 more than Pirates of the Caribbean 4!!! What is what people over there is smoking???? They have no idea!

Finally:

RATING: 6.5/10

Thoughts

I've realised that my main idea about writing a blog was to tell my thoughts, and reflexions in long posts, writing the same idea along the whole text... You know, those things which young people usually think. But now, I 'm happy for not be able to write about that and therefore, for not write about it.

Those things are boring!!!!!! And blogs with that are boring!!!!! Do all novice bloggers want to write about he same?...

Anyway, I won't do that, I hope, so here is English Drummer, a different blog.

New design

"You are reading English Drummer Ver. 3.0" has been added to the bottom of the blog. This is the new look of this space. What do you think?

I love design, so, always I can, I pretend to be up to date in this aspect. This change has good and bad sides. The blog load seems a bit slower and the general aspect is a bit more overelaborate, although there aren't any new element. With this look the text maybe lost some importance too. However, I think this better aspect is enough to offset the bad characteristics. Anyway, I can always remove the template later.
I wanted to introduce something of black colour but I didn't know how. Later, when I thought Blogger needed new templates to choose, I've discovered this one.

It would be really perfect if objects corners were square and not rounded. Would I be able to change it?... I think not...

Well, enjoy.

UPDATE

Oh, dawn! I'm a f*cking God of HTML! I got it!
I didn't change the rounded corners for square ones because it didn't looks fine, however now the corners are almost square but not totally. I like it.

Dentist afternoon

This afternoon, I've experimented a bad experience, even though it's been better than I thought. I've gone to my dentist. I trust in him very much because I know him very well. So I've gone to the clinic, just for speaking about my treatment. I knew he'd maybe ask me for starting the process just in that moment, and he's done it.

My dentist has dealed with me carefully. He's put in me more anesthetic than I expected and after wait a while, he's extracted me one tooth. I have to say that I've felt NOTHING, any pain. I've been totally surprised. The only pain I felt was when the anesthetic has been put to me, and it hasn't been too much pain. I've been quite happy.

When I was talking to the doctor assistant I've felt dizzy. She was asking me constantly if I was fine. I've answered "yes" to everything.

I'd like to explain how it was. I was talking and I've become to fell with no strength. That wasn't the first time it happened to me, but since the last time it has passed much time. I've felt only a bit strange but I haven't been worried because during the waiting in the waiting room I had almost felt asleep. Last night I didn't sleep many hours and I was quite tired. This and the anesthetic injection was the reason for me of that strange tiredness.

I've seen the lights with more bright and then with less bright. A few seconds later, it's happened again. Lights shone more than normal. Now, I know it is a signal of dizziness. Then in two seconds I'd had to hold on something to hold my balance. I've been taken to the doctor office and I've rested and drunk Coca Cola for a while.

Later, the doctor has come to me and has taken my blood pressure. I felt better. He's told me that I had a big strong heart, and he's looked surprised.

Finally I've left the clinic and have gone back to home.

By the way, the next Tuesday I've got to go again...

My new toy

Today, I've got a new toy! Some days ago I ordered a new calculator and today I've received a package with something inside. Can you guess what it had inside?

Yes! I've opened it and there was my new Casio FX-911ES PLUS!!! I read lots of opinions before order it and all said how marvellous is this device.

I don't know how to do the majority of the operations, but I now, it's magic.
One thing I've noticed just when I've caught it with my hands is that it's weightless and really slim!

Now I'm going to take the owner's manual to learn about the machine.
Here you can see a large HD picture for more quality.

Scar TIssue

The other day I started to read "Scar Tissue". That's a book about Anthony Kiedis' life who is the RHCP's singer. For me, This' the first time I read a book like this, I mean, a "biography".

For the time being, it's quite enjoyable. It'll be my project for the next weeks.

I don't believe that I make a review... The book is quite long, and I'd be difficult and complex to write about it. How does it look?

Film review: Crank 2

I was impatient to know how the second part continued and what happened after that end, so, as soon as I could, I watched that film.

Crank 2 from 2009 is the second part of Crank. The main actor is the same, Jason Statham in the role of Chev Chelios.

In this film, a Chinese mafia steals Chev's heart and put an artificial one instead. During the film, Chev has to get electricity to charge the batteries so that the heart continues beating.

I have no words to describe the film and I don't know where to start, but something that I've clear is that I don't like the style. It's an action film but there is too much humour! I didn't know if I was watching an American comedy or an action film. It's not serious...

Things that I like:

- The argument is better than in the previous film, and with some surprises.
- The protagonist's girlfriend is the same actress, but she looks more intelligent and sharper, much better.
- The film is starring by Statham, this is always a point in its favour.
- There are many good action scenes.

Things that I don't like:

- The end is detestable.
- The film style. Not defined.
- Many action scenes are terribly unreal.
- There isn't a love story really. (The same as in Crank).

In conclusion, I have to say that this is an entertaining film, although I didn't hope both Crank and Crank 2 were so.

RATING: 7/10

Music for Sunday night #44

Tonight, we'll listen to a song from Dire Straits. It's a very old song as well as the video, but it's worth to listen to it. So far away. Enjoy.

Film review: Crank

Today, we'll speak about Crank, a motion film from 2006, starring by Jason Statham:

In that film, the protagonist, Chev, is an assassin who is injected a substance in such a way that he needs adrenaline in his blood so that his heart continues beating.

I was encouraged to watch this film by a friend of mine. We were speaking about the film Transporter, (with the same protagonist), so I hoped to find the same actor acting in the same way as in Transporter, but it hasn't been so. In Crank, all happen very fast, there is lots of action (very unreal action really), but with poor argument. Because of this argument, Chev spends the whole film running, driving quickly... There is no time to think about what's going on.

The end

The end is quite unexpected. I don't like. The word I am searching to define it is "confused". You don't know if the protagonist is alive of not. Fortunately, I know there is a second part (Crank 2), starring by the same actor, so he can't be too dead.

Things that I like:

- The protagonist is one of my favourite actors.
- The protagonist's girlfriend, Amy Smart, is a beautiful woman.
- There is lots of action.
- In the end, a man who Chev had forgiven his life previously, helps him. I like that kind of friendship.

Things that I don't like:

- The end is not happy (although neither sad), it's confused. I don' know.
- The action is maybe too much and too unreal.
- Chev has a nice girlfriend (Eve), but she's a silly, stupid, child-mind character, she doesn't realise about Chev's life! She's not the appropriate character for the protagonist's girlfriend.
- Then, there is a love relation in the film, but not a love story really.
- The argument is quite poor and simple, with almost no surprises.

In conclusion, this is not favourite my film, although, it looks very entertaining.

I'm surprised because, despite all the negative points I've found, there are lots of good opinions and good ratings in the Internet about this film.

RATING: 7/10

Music for Sunday night #43

Tonight, I've brought a new song of a new band that I listened in the radio. The song is called "You will leave a Mark", and I don't know anything about the band, but it sounds very good. Enjoy.

Film reviews

I think I should have started to do film reviews long time ago. I like it and I've already watched lots of great films which I would have liked doing a good review.

Film review: In Time

Yesterday I saw "In time", a great film. (I think I should start to do film reviews more often...). I really liked this film, and for that I want to write about it here:

The film is starring by Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried, who are truly a good couple.

The things I like:

- The argument is a bit complex and there are several parts I don't understand, I don't know if I should name it "loose ends",no, I don't believe that, anyway it's very good.
- The film is set in a near future, not in the past, unlike those boring historic films.
- Good soundtrack.
- Beautiful woman as the female protagonist.
- There is a big importance of love and a big love story in that film, which I really like, and which is quite  important for me in a film..
- The end is happy, which is very very important for me too.

The things I don't like:

- The film has a standard duration, about 90 minutes, but it was a bit short for me.

I can't find any other negative point.

In conclusion, I think that is a great film, I like it a lot, and, of course, I recommend it.

Now, I'll post my personal rating of the film, because I don't want you to enter in imbd.com, because there, they have no idea about films, and the best films don't get good rating at all, they have no taste for cinema.

RATING: 9/10
